Click-Together or “Floating” Floors

More and more DIYers are turning to cost-effective click-together floors for home remodeling projects. Click-together or floating floors come in solid wood, engineered wood, laminate, luxury vinyl, cork and bamboo, even floating ceramic tile. Unlike traditional floor covering materials, these surfaces are installed without nails, glue or mortar. Instead, they “float” on top of the subfloor. Planks or tiles lock and fold, snap together, or interlock to cover the subfloor without messy prep.

QuietWarmth, one of the newest additions to the selection of floor-heating products we sell, brings luxurious, efficient, low-cost heat to these popular click-together floors. QuietWarmth heating film uses a revolutionary conductive ink technology to heat floors.

Thinner than a credit card, the heating film warms floors without raising them so your new kitchen floors can blend easily with the rest of your home. And, QuietWarmth is simple to install, with no thin-set or self-leveling mortar required. Unroll the film, run the factory-installed wires to the power source and lay your floor. Traditional Stone and Ceramic Tile

Beautiful, durable stone and ceramic tile floors can be cold on bare feet. Warm them up efficiently for years to come with electric radiant heat mats or loose cable. Both methods require attaching the heating elements to the subfloor and then spreading thin-set mortar over the mats or cable before applying tile. Loose cable, the original method for electric heated floors, requires a more time-consuming installation and extra planning to properly space the wire to heat your floor. Some cable products work with membranes that have channels or grids for extra protection during the installation process.

If you prefer an easier installation, choose from a selection of electric radiant heating mats. We stock mats in a range of standard sizes to meet your square footage needs. If your kitchen has an island or a tricky floor plan, call us to discuss your project and we’ll help you order a custom mat for the best fit.

Control Warm Floors with a Thermostat

Take the guesswork out of heating any floor with a programmable thermostat. Warm Your Floor stocks both manual and programmable models. Lower-cost manual models require you to monitor the system and control the temperature directly with a button or dial. For optimal heating and ultimate convenience, we recommend programmable thermostats so you can set your preferred temperature and have floors ready before you wake up in the morning or at any time you choose. And the newest models we sell are Wi-Fi enabled so you can control your floors remotely with your smartphone.

For optimal heating and ultimate convenience, choose a programmable wifi thermostat for easy programming.

Programmable thermostats can help you save money on your utility costs since they can be programmed to turn off on warmer days or while you’re away. Some models feature Smart Start technology, which “learns” your floor in 1–2 weeks and adjusts your system accordingly to have your floor at the temperature you set it at the time you specify.
