How to File a Warranty Claim for Schluter Products

Before registering or submitting a warranty claim, there are a few key things to know about Schluter’s warranty process. Understanding these ensures your system remains fully protected and makes any future claims simple to process.

  1. Identify the Issue: Inspect your Schluter system for any defects or performance issues. Make note of what’s happening and when the issue started.
  2. Notify Schluter Within 30 Days: Send a written notice of the defect to Schluter within 30 days of discovering the problem to maintain eligibility.
  3. Gather Purchase Documentation: You’ll have to supply Schluter with documentation proving your purchase of the system, installation information, and any other invoices related to the original installation of your system. 
  4. Prepare for Inspection: Prepare for Schluter to inspect your defective products as a part of their warranty claim process and verify the defect. 

 

Types of Schluter Systems Warranties

Listed below are the different types of warranties Schluter offers and the requirements to qualify for each. 

Floor Heating Systems

Requirements:

  1. Must use all components from the Schluter-DITRA-HEAT system (membrane, heating cables, and thermostat).
  2. Must follow Schluter’s official installation instructions for the entire system.

  4. System registration must be completed online to confirm warranty eligibility.

Shower Systems

Requirements:

  1. Must use all components from the Schluter-Shower System (KERDI drain, curb, tray, waterproofing components, etc.).
  2. Installation must follow Schluter’s installation guidelines for the entire system.
  3. All components must be installed together as part of one continuous system for coverage to apply.
  4. System registration must be completed online to confirm eligibility.

What voids a Schluter warranty?

A warranty may be voided if products are installed incorrectly, used with non-Schluter system components (when system coverage is claimed), or installed without following Schluter’s written instructions.

Does Schluter cover labor costs under warranty?

Labor coverage may be included for full system warranties but does not apply to individual product warranties. Always review the product’s specific warranty document for details.
