Why Choose LVP or LVT flooring? What heating systems work best?

If you’re planning a remodel or are just dreaming about one, you’ve likely heard of luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring – and for very good reason. Vinyl flooring has been popular for decades, loved for its affordability, durability, and easy maintenance.

Contemporary vinyl flooring products have come a long way, updated with designer-friendly aesthetics that fit any decor and budget. Today, you can find LVP floors that look just like beautiful hardwood floors, without the expense and special care required. And because they can take a deep clean, LVT floors are a great choice for high-traffic areas or rooms that are prone to moisture, like kitchens. Plus, installation and future repairs for both LVP and LVT are easy. Simply remove the damaged tile or plank and replace it with a new piece.

With a 25-to-30-year lifespan, LVP and LVT floors offer years of beautiful floors with so many benefits.

  • Is there any floor system that I can use that will take the place of a forced-air furnace? I am open to LVP or carpet. I know that traditionally ceramic tile is best due to the conductivity of it.

      Hi Mary,

All the products we sell are designed as a supplemental heat source, not a primary one.

But you can use certain products to increase the chance of the system heating the room.

We’d recommend using tile though since it is more conducive.

And we’d recommend using the Ditra-Heat Duo system using the closest cable spacing to achieve the most heat output.
